What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on the RealWorks team managing and launching new tech based solutions to combat the opioid epidemic.
What do you want to solve? How? Why?
I want to solve the problem of housing! More specifically, I want to work to address the legacy of policies that excluded people of color from owning houses. It has prevented thousands of people from creating wealth that spans more than one generation and has kept many in a cycle of poverty. I think a lot of the work begins with real estate development today and making sure that this development occurs sustainably and inclusively.
What would you do if you had absolute power?
I would do everything I could to save the environment from land preservation to investing in renewable energy. Things are looking really scary right now!!
What do you think everyone should google to learn more about?
People should learn more about the partition between India and Pakistan. It’s the largest mass migration in human history!
What is the coolest thing you've learned in 2019?
I learned about Memory engrams in the brain in some neuroscience coursework! Researchers were able to activate a fear memory in mice by activating a neural network in the hippocampus. The brain is truly fascinating and each day is becoming more and more accessible!
What do you believe that no one else does?
I believe Dirk Nowitzki is the greatest basketball player.
What are you listening to? (eg. music, podcast)
I’ve been listening to a lot of Frank Ocean and the podcast - Revisionist History by Malcolm Gladwell.
What are reading or what have you read recently that you love?
I recently read The Namesake, which tells the story of a Bengali-American boy growing up in the US. It was a beautiful novel that allowed me to see pieces of myself in literature for the first time in my life! Extremely validating.
What is your tagline for 2019?
Embrace uncertainty and say yes!
What new innovation or org have you heard about working in this space that excites you?
I have seen new technologies in the distribution of opioids for those who have prescriptions. They monitor and screen for opioid abuse by collecting data on consumption habits.
Who would you most like to switch places with for a day?

Who is your biggest inspiration?
